Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling?

Counselling offers you a safe, confidential space, to discuss your concerns and explore issues that are causing you difficulties and pain with a qualified professional.

The Counsellor will put you at ease, listen without judgement, and support you to move in a positive direction.

What can I expect from my first session?

In the first session you will meet your Counsellor, Sally, explore your situation and what changes you hope to achieve, and begin to agree a way forward.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions last for one hour.

How often will I attend?

It is usually recommended that you attend counselling sessions at least once per week. Your personal circumstances will be taken into account and this will be agreed between us.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your situation and what it is that you hope to gain from taking part in counselling. Some people benefit from short term counselling, between 6 and 12 sessions, whilst others continue with medium or longer term therapy.

How much does counselling cost?

Individual counselling is £40 per session and couples counselling is £50 per session. All sessions last for one hour.
