Research shows that for many clients the relationship with their Counsellor is what they felt helped them the most.
I work on the philosophy that both
you and I are 'okay' as people. I am okay with you and whatever brings you to seek counselling. Feeling understood and heard, sometimes for the first time, is what my clients often tell me has been the most powerful part of their counselling journey.
I use an integrative approach that will allow you to explore how your past and current difficulties developed, and begin to move forward in a more positive direction.
Your first session will help us to find out what has brought you to seek counselling and what it is that you hope to change. You will meet me and together, we will assess whether or not counselling is the way forward for you. It is important that you find the right Counsellor for you and there is no obligation to continue sessions.
Here's the bit where I briefly talk about myself. Most people want to make sure that their Counsellor is adequately trained and experienced right?
I'm Sally Moore, a BACP registered Counsellor and founder of Essence Therapy Centre.
I have always enjoyed working with people, and so becoming a Counsellor was a natural step for me.
Having over 15 years' experience of working with young people and professionals in education, much of my counselling work is with people and couples aged 18 - 35, however, I do work with adults of all ages.
My special areas of interest are: relationships & couples, anxiety, and work-related stress.
In addition to my counselling work, I teach people who are training to become Counsellors on a counselling course at a local college, and I am a Trainee Psychotherapist.
In addition to counselling qualifications and experience, I'm a Trainee Psychotherapist, working towards MSc in Psychotherapy using Transactional Analysis.
